Quality Care

Quality Care Initiative: Overview

What is the Quality Care Initiative?

The Certification Institute is actively seeking partnerships with selected organizations. We are looking for organizations that are:

  • Recognized as leaders and contributors to quality child care practice; and
  • Committed to including certification as part of their professional development effort.

Institue planners believe these partnerships can help organizations maximize the benefits of credentialing direct care CYC staff. In addition, partners will participate in Institute sponsored research to demonstrate the impact of certification and training on agency programs and clients. This cooperative arrangement offers important support to agency leaders and staff while providing a means for the agency to participate in cutting-edge research.

Selected organizations make a three-year commitment to work with the Institute. The partnering relationship is negotiated to include the services best suited to the selected organization's existing needs and budget.

What services do partners receive?

Varying types and levels of service are available to partners. These services are dependent upon an organization's partnering status. Services include:

  • Technical assistance;
  • On-site certification testing;
  • Supervisor and manager training;
  • Participation in research;
  • Training partnerships; and
  • Recognition as a "quality care provider"

How can we get involved?

The Institute is looking for partners that offer regional and programmatic diversity. The sponsoring relationship is outlined by contract and approved by the Institute Board of Directors. Institute staff and board representatives are available to visit your organization to make follow-up presentations to your staff or board of directors. For more information, contact Frank Eckles at the State Office (979-775-0883).
